Capstone
My capstone project was a departmental capstone, in which I took the AERO 401/402 sequence to complete the project. Specifically, I worked on a project designing a PID control system for a multi-paneled, shape memory alloy (SMA) actuated, morphing surface. The panel is used to alter the shape of a fuselage (by pushing it out or pulling it in) in-flight to mitigate sonic booms over populated areas. This experience has helped me in that I was able to use the skills I learned in class (specifically Python coding and control systems) for a practical, real-world problem. Working on a real engineering team and coordinating together will be very useful experience moving forward into industry. |
